Steps To Heaven
Death is a difficult concept to explain to young children. While it is hard for them to understand, it is a crucial conversation not to avoid. Steps to Heaven, authored by 10-year-old Hannah Goh and illustrated by her eight-year-old brother Callum Goh, is a book written by children for children. It is about a little girl named Gracie who learns to come to grips with the death of her Nai Nai.
This book can be used as a conversation starter with young children to introduce the concept of dying. It can also be helpful for family with someone who is diagnosed with a life-limiting illness.

It is a meaningful book with nice illustrations. In this book, Gracie described her Nai Nai’s journey to heaven. After reading this book, I know that my Nai Nai is living happily in heaven. I encourage other children to read this book too because I think it’s important for us to learn about death is part of life.

A great read even for adults. A mature and difficult subject made easy to breach to little audiences. A great book to minister to little hearts.

*Steps to Heaven* is the concept and process of dying that is written from a child’s perspective who witnessed the passing away of her loved one caused by cancer. It is a touching and heartfelt story that is presented with beautiful illustrations (done by the author’s brother).
This book can serve as a good introductory platform for children to understand this topic or for those going through this life stage.
Worth a read!

Hannah explains the deep topic in simply terms for children. The illustrations are bright and warm. This is a good book for parents to introduce the concept of dying to their children. I struggled with how to explain death to my children when my mother-in-law passed away last year. In a result, I did not touch on this topic until I recently read this book together with my children. Thanks to this good book. I would recommend it to both parents and children.
